Choosing the right fire alarm system is one of the most important decisions you will make for your building. Our Newcastle-based engineers begin every project with a full design review against BS 5839-1:2025, the British Standard governing fire detection and alarm systems in non-domestic premises. We assess the category required (L1 through L5 for life protection, P1/P2 for property protection), zone the building correctly, and specify devices suited to your environment — heat detectors for kitchens, optical detectors for offices, multi-sensor units for transient spaces such as corridors. We install addressable fire alarm panels from Advanced, Kentec, Morley and Apollo, alongside conventional panels for smaller premises. Every device is positioned in line with manufacturer guidance and BS 5839-1 spacing rules, then commissioned with a full cause-and-effect test. On completion we issue the BS 5839-1 design and installation certificates required by your insurer, fire officer and the Responsible Person under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
